Front Sight Ambience
« on: December 08, 2011, 19:10:48 PM »
Although Front Sight's training is similar in content to other schools, I get the impression that the attitude and ambience are very different.  Front Sight seems to make a point of trying to encourage new shooters to train and makes a point to provide a pleasant environment, far removed from the "warrior mentality" found at many other schools.  The home page on their web site http://www.frontsight.com/ says their training is without "..without any boot camp mentality or drill instructors attitudes".  Is this really true?  Is it desirable or even possible to train someone for mortal combat without a warrior mentality?

I've never been to Front Sight, although I have been on the mailing list from the beginning.

I have been to Gun Site. I didn't notice any "warrior mentality" at Gun Site, though gunfighting is a serious business. They do point out what can get you killed in an interpersonal confrontation.
